I’m sorry that I don’t remember specifically what it was. I was able to spend a couple of days in Addis Ababa and it was fascinating. Thanks for finding my blog which led me to yours.

  20. Hi Sara,
A fellow Ethiopian photographer shared your blog with me. I was very happy to see that there IS someone out there blogging about Ethiopia. It has been many years (2002) since I returned, but I’ve been considering returning just to cover the country, now that I’m a travel writer/blogger & photographer like yourself.
By the way, love the photos of the birds – beautiful!
    Keep up the great work,
    Lily

  29. Hi Sara. I saw that you were reading my blog and I thought I’d have a look at yours. What a wonderful, interesting site! Thank you for showing us your country both with your words and your many, colourful photos. It makes for great reading! If I win Lotto one day, I would love to come and visit you, go shopping with you and of course take coffee. I really enjoyed hearing some of the music of your country. The Maori of New Zealand have some beautiful music too – and they also have some scary stuff. When I was a little girl, Queen Elizabeth came to visit and was given a traditional Maori welcome. I was terrified she was going to be killed! You might be familiar with the Maori Haka, which is performed before the start of many rugby games. It gives me a shiver up my spine every time I hear it. I’ll leave you with a link to an example of one. God bless, keep on blogging! 🙂 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BI851yJUQQw

    Hi Sara:
Love your blog-site. I tried to see your recent post on Shashamene, but was unable reach it. I was really disappointed as Shashamene was one of my favourite places I visited in Ethiopia, as it has a strong Jamaican connection.
Maybe there is a problem with the site and it needs to be checked out. Look forward to reading and seeing your pictures when they are up on the site.

Sara! Thank you for visiting – I’m happy to find you because of it! Now I will stroll around here and enjoy your lovely place.

I have an old childhood friend who grew up in Ethiopia and we have talked much about your country when we were younger. She now lives and works in China and has done so for about ten years, so we seldom meet. I have never been to Ethiopia myself, but I’m sure it is a wonderful country.
